Crusher Dust: Using The Wasted Rock Pieces

Crusher dust or small pieces of waster rock is an extremely useful byproduct of quarrying procedures. Every day tonnes and tonnes of rock is quarried. Go to any mining site and you will see huge quantities of rocks getting crushed. In the process of crushing some part of the rocks gets waster in the form of small chip. Thiswastage is not only an additional burden on the environment but also wasted profit for the quarry management. The slag which is produced as a byproduct of quarrying and crushing procedures is collectively termed as Crusher Dust. Crusher dust is a natural byproduct of the quarrying process and is an additional revenue earning opportunity for the miners.
Crusher dust is produced by from the slag coming out of furnaces or regular crushing of rocks. It technically could be of any typeof rock but most rocks used in construction are silicates or aliminosilicates. Limestone is major rock used in Brisbane and adjoining areas for construction material. The slag and rock pieces as a result of the mining process are generally of uneven shape. Generally the first separation is made basis size. Pieces greater than 5 mm are a larger variety of sand and are used as fillers. Thesmaller pieces are further grinded into crusher dust often around1-2 mm in diameter. The bigger manufacturing plants often employ more sophisticated measures making the crusher dust even finer. They also add pre-coating or stabilizing agents before packing the crusher dust for selling.
Crusher Dust is used as cement Aggregate primarily.Washing Machines : A special bath for your clothes. It is also used as a filler to fill in cracks in pavements, patios or any other stone based path. Crusher dust is also used in conjunction withlarger Aggregate material in the production of mortar. So it is also used as a paste bind various construction blocks together andfill the gaps between them. These blocks could be of any nature stone, brick, cinder blocks, etc. Modern mortars are typically made from a mixture of Crusher dust and a binder such as cement there by making crusher dust a very key ingredient.A specific form Crusher dust is the manufactured sand which is anexcellent alternative to natural sand. Manufactured sands can be blended with natural sands to provide improved water demand and concrete shrinkage values. And since most hardened properties of concrete like Strength, Shrinkage and Density are linked to mix water demand and so reduced water demand will provide excellent hardened properties.
